Link Governors

Link Governors

We have a system of “Link Governors” where an individual governor takes responsibility for a particular area of the curriculum and a priority of the school development plan, meeting with the school lead on a regular basis throughout the school year to decide together whether success criteria have been met. In a variety of ways, link governors gain an understanding of what the priority actually looks like in practice - they might go on a learning walk, go to a planning meeting, attend a staff meeting, talk to some children, look at books or data. Thus they gather evidence from a range of sources and people, helping to ensure that the monitoring and evaluating being done is rigorous. This also means that the Governing Body does not rely solely on reports from the Headteacher but has regular, independent feedback from the Link Governors in each area. Our current Link Governors are set out in the document below.
