COVID-19 Contact EASTER 2021

Track and trace over the Easter break for Bevendean Primary School and Nursery

The following advice has been sent to schools by the Department of Education to share with parents and staff about reporting positive test results over the Easter break. Please read it all carefully.

Where a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, the school should not be contacted. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace. So, if your child is symptomatic from Sunday 4th April and then tests positive, you DO NOT need to notify the school until we return for the Summer term.

For the first 6 days after teaching ends, if a pupil or staff member tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, the school is asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school. So, if your child is symptomatic on Friday 2nd April or Saturday 3rd April, and you subsequently get them tested, and they have a positive result, you MUST notify the school by completing this online form.

The phone lines will not be manned at all during the holidays, so any contact you need to make with the school regarding the above, must be done via this online form.  The school will check the online form at 3.00pm daily and be in touch with families as needed.

Click Here to access the Online Form or use the linked QR code.

If your child tests positive after 3.00pm Wednesday 7th April, you can update us when we return to school.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Parent/Carers
It's so exciting to have all the children back to school on Monday 8th March. Sadly we are unable to hold a Book Fair this year but the good news is...we have still been allocated some book tokens for children to spend on a book that catches their eye.
Just click on the link below to collect your child's token.
Look forward to welcoming everyone back.
Kind regards

Dear Parent/Carers

Please see below:

Rapid lateral flow testing for households and bubbles of school pupils and staff

Around 1 in 3 people with coronavirus (COVID-19) do not have symptoms but can still pass it on to others. Regular testing of people without symptoms (asymptomatic testing) is important to help stop the virus spreading. As lockdown restrictions gradually ease, we all need to play our part to help protect each other.

On Sunday 28 February, the Department of Health and Social Care announced that from Monday 1 March, households with primary school, secondary school and college age children, including childcare and support bubbles, can test themselves twice every week at home as schools return from Monday 8 March. Households, childcare and support bubbles of primary, secondary and college staff can also be tested. Twice-weekly testing will also be offered to adults working in the wider school community, including bus drivers and after school club leaders. The twice-weekly test kits can be accessed:

  • via employers if they offer testing to employees
  • at a local test site
  • by collecting a home test kit from a test site
  • by ordering a home test kit online

Schools should not give test kits to parents, carers or household members and should not order more test kits for this purpose. Letters containing advice on where to access testing will be made available for schools to share with parents and staff shortly.

This guidance provides information on who can be tested and how you can get a test.

kind regards

Dear Parent/Carers
We are looking forward to welcoming Van Cols into school on 16.03.2021 for whole class photographs.
This is our usual company and the same one we used for individual, pupil photos in the Autumn term, who follow strict Covid protocol.
There is a strict no mixing of bubbles and cleaning will take place between groups.
If for any reason you do not wish your child to be photographed please inform your child's class teacher, by Friday 12th March.
kind regards
